Optical Communication Laboratory

Equipped with the latest instruments like the Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) setup, the Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) and the Frequency Spectrum Analyzer, this laboratory provides a platform for communication based experiments. Further, the students are exposed to a multitude of softwares like Artifex, MetroWand and OptSim etc.

Photonics Laboratory

This lab offers the students software and hardware facilities to work on. Research oppurtunities in this lab include working on a Free Space Optical (FSO) link, designing new circuits and analyzing their viability with software programs.

Fiber Optics Laboratory

This is a laboratory which comes as a part of the M.Tech course from the Physics Department. It gives students an oppurtunity to work closely with LASERS, LEDs , fibers (MMF, SMF and polarization mainting fibers), polarizers, acousto-optic modulators and others. It also has an Optical Spectrum Analyser (OSA) for analysis of various parameters. Students can also have a hands-on experience of fusing fibers, making directional couplers, fused fiber directional couplers etc.
